Hispanic Alumni Scholarship

The Hispanic Alumni of SMU Board launched an initiative to raise funds for the Hispanic Alumni Scholarship in 2009. In the 2014-15 school year, with the help of over 100 donors, this scholarship has provided nearly $30,000 in financial aid to this year ’s recipients: Ricardo Duran, Katherine Mejia,  Liliana Mata, and Daniel Rodriguez. All money raised for the Hispanic Alumni Scholarship goes directly to the current SMU students selected. Make your gift to the Scholarship today!

To receive this scholarship, a student must:

  • Be a rising undergraduate sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student
  • Be a member of College Hispanic American Students
  • Earn a GPA of 3.000 or above
  • Demonstrate financial need

All Alumni, Parents and Friends - Third Annual Hispanic Alumni Awards Luncheon
The Hispanic Alumni of SMU Board cordially invites you to the Third Annual Awards Luncheon to honor the 2016 Distinguished Hispanic Alumnus, Mateo Raul Magdaleno ’06, who has dedicated his life to evangelizing the pursuit of a higher education. We also will recognize this year's student recipients of the Hispanic Alumni Scholarship. Tickets are $25 per person and include a $5 gift to the HIspanic Alumni Scholarship. Online registration is required no later than April 27. Limited seating is available. Jones Great Hall, The Meadows Museum.
